What We Do

Communication, Learning, and Accountability are key to our advocacy, outreach and operations. VCK empowers the youth and the community to improve their capabilities to take ownership to projects aimed at bringing desirable change to their socio-justice spaces so as to alleviate them from poverty and dependency. VCK works with the community magnetic theater, community radio and art groups to produce and disseminate media, art and community theatre content on socio-justice issues

COMMUNITY OUTREACH

VCK employs a 360-degree consolidated approach to directly involve target populations in all aspects of decision-making and implementation to strengthen local capacities, community structures and local ownership as well as to improve transparency, accountability and optimal resource allocations across diverse settings. Some of these approaches are:

  • Community film
  • Community radio
  • Digital and socio-media
  • Workshop
  • Community art festivals and sports
  • Campaigns

MEDIA & PERFORMING ART

Through participatory approach to content creation and production, VCK works with the community to research, gather and consolidate the media and art contents for advocacy and communication. They are presented as:

Magnetic theatre: a form of community theatre that typically takes place in outdoor, public spaces, to explore issues affecting the community and encourage discussion and problem solving with audience members

Documentary: production of short documentaries to highlight the plights, successes and need of the community, to educate audiences, influence attitudes and promote behavior change.

Visual art, music, dance, Film and literary arts:

MENTORHSIP AND SKILLS DEVELOPMENT
